Waking Jacob

On June 30th, 2008, someone on a Yahoo! group that I belong to sent an email with the subject line “EYE OPENER“, with just 2 links in the body of the message… that was it.

I nonchalantly clicked on the first link, not thinking much of it. It was a link to a Google video, so I started playing it to see what it was about. At exactly the 30 second mark of the video, I almost turned it off. It sounded like a “conspiracy theory” and I was sure watching another second of it would be a waste of time.

But something compelled me to keep watching, if only for a few more minutes.

I later realized that those first 3 minutes and 3 seconds of the video marked a turning point in my life. It was the first step in a long process of waking from a very deep slumber.
